What's your name?

The other evening, while I was making dinner ready microwaving stuff to eat, Natalie was working with some of her art supplies. After a while, she came over to show me this:
"Look, Mommy, I wrote my name!"

And she did - all by herself, and most of the letters are actually recognizable, too!

Happy Independence day!

On Independence Day, we went to visit some friends. And we made a cake to bring: Angel food cake, coolwhip, and bananas, strawberries, and blueberries.

It even tasted quite good too! Natalie had so much fun making it. She used a little flag to look at to get it just right.

At our friends house, we played many different games. Natalie is getting really good at baseball:

That's going to be a hit!

Later that night, we had a few fireworks in our backyard. We could also see some pretty big ones from other houses around us. It was a nice, warm evening, with a chance of rain. And actually, it worked out pretty well, because the rain started just as we ran out of fireworks. Perfect timing!

Look at the fireworks over there!

So, to everyone, a (belated) Happy Independence Day!

A playdate

So, I'm finally getting back to doing some blogging. We've been so busy having fun lately that the blogging kinda took a back seat for a while. Well, it should make for lots of pictures coming up, as you'll hopefully see in the coming days!

On the day before Independence Day, we went to visit Aubriella and her family. As usual, the kids had a great time playing together:

Fun...

Sun...

And Water.

And then, I heard this from Natalie:

" Mommy, look at me!"

Natalie had her first sparkler ever:

Wow, it's so pretty!

And, of course, the desert was "Natalie approved":

"Yummi!"

Later that night, we watched some fireworks in the street - another first for Natalie. She wore her hearing protection so it wouldn't be too loud for her. And she had a blast!

Wow, so many pretty fireworks!

Sticky hands!

Another post in the series of "post I never finished"...

Sometimes when we go grocery shopping, Natalie get's to have a "special popsicle" (an icecream bar of her choice) after we are done. She usually eats it in the car on the way home, and here is the usual result:

Sticky hands!

Nothing a wet washcloth (or twenty) can't handle...

A Playdate

Well, back to the series of "posts I never finished"...

Here are some pictures from a playdate in the spring. Aubriella and her brother Brayden came over for a fun afternoon.

Natalie was such a big girl, reading Brayden a story. I find it humerous that the book she chose was "The do-it-yourself-guide to understanding women". Gotta start training them early!

You need to know that...

The kids had so much fun that we kinda forgot to take pictures, at least until they settled down at the table to make some cookies:

Yay, we get to make cookies!

It was a couple of very tired girls that sat down to watch a little TV while they had their cookies and milk:
Yummi cookies - let's see if we can eat them before we fall asleep!
