First day of second grade

Last Tuesday was Natalie's first day of school. She's now in second grade. Of course, we had to do the obligatory first day of school pictures:

Of course, we also waited outside of daycare so we could wave as she went on the school bus.

And staying true to tradition, Natalie got a special cookie when she came home.

First of the first

Natalie's first day of school was on Tuesday, September 3rd (the day after Labor Day). Of course, the day started with a pretty breakfast table:

Someone was a little too excited to do more than pretend-sleeping.

 As usual, we waited outside of daycare so we could wave to Natalie on the school bus:

Walking to the school bus. The little girl in front of Natalie was new to the school and school bus thing. Natalie was asked to sit with her on the bus to help her out. Natalie was so proud to be a big girl!

On the way home I stopped to get a special cookie for Natalie. For some reason, they didn't have any first day of school cookies at the store, but when I asked they made this one especially for Natalie:

Last day of Kindergarten

Of course, we made sure that Natalie's last day of Kindergarten was special. That day, she came home to this:

And a "Last day of Kindergarten" card - yes, they actually make those...

And of course, a very special treat.

And, in case you didn't notice: Natalie was wearing (pretty much) the same outfit on her last day of Kindergarten as she did on her first day of Kindergarten!

Tuesday this week was Natalie's first day of Kindergarten! Of course, we had to take the obligatory first day of school pictures:

Natalie had chosen her outfit a few weeks ago at Walmart. It is so pretty. You can't really see it in the photos, but it has lots of little shiny sparkle-thingies on it. Natalie thought it looked like a princess dress.

And it wouldn't be Natalie if there wasn't a silly one!

Karsten and I waited outside daycare to see her go on the bus for the first day of school:

Natalie seems to be very happy to be a Kindergartner. She is so ready for this next step, to take on this new challenge. We're so proud of her!

First day of School!

On September First, Natalie started school (4K)!!!

Of course, we took the obligatory first day of school pictures:

Natalie goes to school in the afternoons. So, of course we showed up at daycare on the first day of school as her daycare teacher brought her to the school bus. We waved like crazy, and Natalie was sooo proud!

I'm so proud of our school girl! She's so ready to learn, so ready for new adventures. She'll do well, out there in the world on her own.
