A matter of perspective

A week or so ago, Karsten was picking Natalie up at daycare. She kept getting her jacket on backwards, and Karsten kept telling her that it was the "wrong sleeve". All of a sudden, she looked up at him and said "wrong arm"!

Swimming

We've been taking Natalie to swim class since she was 6 months old. We usually both go in the water with her, so we don't have many pictures from it. But this week, Karsten had cut his finger pretty good (it's all better now), so he couldn't go in the water with us. Instead he took some great pictures of all the fun: Natalie got to wear a life jacket. With that one on, she went for a ride in a yellow inflatable boat with the other kids. She enjoyed that so much!

Then, she used a noodle as a horsie, and she got to feed the horsie with different colored rings.

Look, I can float all by myself! I'm so proud!

Reading is best - also with Grandma

Natalie still loves books. When Grandma came to visit in November, they shared lots of great times like these:

Grandma-Monster

I was looking thru some "old" pictures from November, when Natalie's Grandma came to visit for a few weeks. I had to post this one:
I guess some explanation would be in order:

I had some big googly-eyes laying on the table from an artproject. One night, Karsten took them and stuck them to his forehead. Natalie thought it was hilarious that Karsten was a "Daddy-Monster" with four eyes. She would take them off him and say "Daddy-Monster" all gone, then put them back on and say "Daddy-Monster". Of course, the Daddy-Monster was very good at tickling. Well, it evolved into playing with these stickers. And of course, Grandma got to be part of the game, too. So the above is a picture of the "Grandma-Monster"!

The new A-B-C's...

Here's a conversation from the other night while Natalie was in her bath:

Natalie: (singing) Deeh-deeh-deeh-deeh...
Karen: Are you singing the A-B-C song?
Natalie: No, Natalie singing deeh-deeh-deeh-song!

I guess I should have known...

We had a great New Years party - in the early evening - complete with funny hats and noisemakers: Natalie couldn't quite blow hard enough to make these things say something, so she just supplied the sound-effects herself:
